Cooler Master isn’t the most popular gaming brand.

And the MP510 isn’t the most used mouse pad.

But I’m a fan of gear from Cooler Master and the MP510 comes recommended from some mouse pad fanatics.

I wanted to give the MP510 a try because I heard it’s different from most mouse pads. I’ve tried cloth pads and I’ve tried hard pads, but the MP510 is something else.

You could say the MP510 is neither a cloth pad nor a hard pad because it uses the special Cordura fabric. Cordura is a coarse material that delivers responsiveness, durability, and water resistance.

And it’s exactly this material that gives the MP510 a different feel from the other mouse pads that I’ve tried.

I would describe the MP510 as more of a hybrid pad, and I’ll cover how this mouse pad performs when gaming in more detail as you read through this review.

For now, let’s start at the beginning with the unboxing.

Unpackaging

The MP510 comes in a box with the purple and black colors that Cooler Master is known for, with the pad rolled up inside.

The MP510 is a classic black mouse pad with anti-fray stitching to prevent it from peeling around the edges. And it features a small yet elegant Cooler Master logo in the top right that glows in the dark.

As simple as the design of the MP510 is, I really like it.

Cooler Master MP510 mouse pad with box

When I placed the MP510 on my desk, it didn’t immediately lay completely flat and there were some bumps in the corners.

As the corners are areas that I usually don’t move my mouse over when gaming, this wasn’t a problem.

It actually took more than a week for the MP510 to lay completely flat. In hindsight, I could have placed some weights on the areas where there were bumps to speed up the process.

Sizing

You can get the MP510 in a few different sizes; small, medium, large, and extra large.

If you’re someone that plays mostly shooter games with relatively low sensitivity, then you’re going to want to get at least the large size.

The sensitivity I use is usually around 20-30cm/360 or 65-80 eDPI in Fortnite and I went with the large size, which has the following dimensions:

  • Width: 450 mm
  • Height: 350 mm
  • Thickness: 3 mm

So the large size has the standard 450 mm width that you would expect from a big pad and offers enough room when moving horizontally.

But the 350 mm height is more than 10% shorter than the 400 mm standard height that you would expect from a mouse pad of this size.

I have no idea why Cooler Master decided to chop off some of the height of the MP510.

For me, the slight loss in vertical length wasn’t a problem, even when doing vertical aiming scenarios. You see, when I’m gaming, I don’t rest my whole arm on the desk (I use more like two-thirds of my arm).

But I did feel the need to move the MP510 a few millimeters further up my desk than I usually would (I typically have my mouse pad right on the edge of my desk), to make sure I had the room I needed.

MP510 mouse pad on desk with mouse

If you’re someone that rests your whole arm on the desk, use a low sensitivity, and you play games with a lot of verticality, then you may find the 350 mm height of the large size MP510 a problem.

In that case, the extra large MP510 may be more suitable for you. Here are the dimensions of the extra large size:

  • Width: 900 mm
  • Height: 400 mm
  • Thickness: 3 mm

So it has enough width to cover a lot of your desk (more than you’ll ever need when gaming) and has the standard 400 mm height, which should be enough for everyone.

Whatever size you choose, the thickness is 3 mm. I find this is a good thickness for mouse pads in terms of comfort for long gaming sessions and performance.

Now let’s look at the performance of the MP510 mouse pad in more detail.

Performance

The MP510 is a fairly fast mouse pad, but it is not too quick that you lose control. Because of the rough texture of the Cordura fabric, the MP510 has a scratchy feeling as you move your mouse over it.

Of course, the MP510 is faster than your standard control pads, like a SteelSeries QcK or Zowie G-SR-SE. But certainly slower than, say, a hard pad like the Glorious Helios.

So the MP510 is well balanced in its speed and it’s a good choice if you’re looking for something that’s faster than your typical cloth pad.

The friction is also a bit lower than your typical cloth pad.

But the stopping power was good enough for me to be able to stop the mouse when I wanted to. So I could perform well when using the MP510 in heavily click-timing games or practice scenarios.

If you play games that are more focused on tracking aim and reactivity, where a faster pad is preferred, then the MP510 is a top choice.

I feel confident when aiming using the MP510 mouse pad and have good control over my mouse movements in all areas of the pad because the surface is consistent.

So the MP510 offers you medium speed and stopping power. In other words, it’s a well-balanced pad that gives you a feeling that you won’t get from most mouse pads.

The Cordura fabric

Now I want to talk about the Cordura fabric in more detail since it’s not a commonly used material in mouse pads.

The surface of the MP510 is rough and many users have said it can aggravate your skin as your arm and wrist moves over it. Because I’m someone with sensitive skin, this was a concern for me.

Here’s a close-up photo of the MP510, so you can get a good idea of what the Cordura fabric looks like.

Close up photo of the MP510 to see the Cordura fabric

Fortunately, I haven’t had any skin problems or flareups as a result of playing with the MP510.

Something notable about the Cordura fabric is that it’s very durable and it’s going to remain consistent for a long time.

You can’t say this for a lot of pads.

For example, cloth pads are prone to losing their glide and feel once you’ve used them for a few months or a year.

But you’ll most likely get a good few years of regular use from the MP510 before you notice any signs of it degrading or losing glide.

The Cordura fabric is also water-resistant, this can help the pad feel consistent even if you have some sweat on your arm, or you are in a humid environment.

Also, the stitched edges of the MP510 can help prevent the mouse pad from fraying, further extending its lifespan.

I noticed that the MP510 can pick up bits of particles and fluff from the air, which get stuck to the mouse pad.

If you’re someone that’s sensitive to anything on your mouse pad and you can feel all those little bumps as you glide your mouse over the surface, don’t worry.

The MP510 is quick and easy to clean. I found that just rubbing it gently with a microfiber cloth (that you can get cheap from most shops) will remove any unwanted particles from the surface of the pad.

Some users have said they can notice a difference in how the MP510 feels in the X and Y axis. For example, some users say the Y axis seems slower than the X axis.

But this is not something that I was able to notice. Even when I was isolating horizontal and vertical movements, I was able to perform well when using the MP510.

Conclusion

The MP510 is a well-made mouse pad that gives you excellent performance and the consistent surface that you need when gaming.

If you’re looking for something that’s faster and offers a different feel and texture from your standard cloth pad, then you should consider getting the MP510.

Because it’s durable and available at an affordable price, the MP510 is one of the best value for money mouse pads that you can get today.

You don’t have to spend a fortune to get a great gaming mouse for Fortnite.

Sure, the best mouse that pro players are using may be expensive.

For example, the Logitech G Pro Wireless and Razer Viper Ultimate both cost over $140.

But you can buy a mouse with a top sensor and excellent shape for Fortnite while on a budget today.

So if you’re looking for the best cheap mouse for Fortnite, you’ve come to the right place because here you’ll find the top gaming mice you can get for under $50.

Of course, if you want your cheap mouse to perform to the highest level, then you’ll need to pair it with a mouse pad.

Your mouse pad doesn’t have to be expensive and you can see my top mouse pad picks for Fortnite here.

1. Razer Viper Mini

Razer Viper Mini gaming mouse

Razer really knocked it out of the park with its latest line of Viper mice.

Of course, the Viper and Viper Ultimate are too expensive to make it on this list.

But Razer is really targeting the budget market with the Viper Mini as it costs just $39, which is very cheap for a Razer product. Especially when you consider the Viper Mini weighs in at just 60 grams, making it lighter than the other Viper mice.

The reason for the Viper Mini’s cheap price is for two reasons.

First, it has a small form factor.

Here are the measurements of the Razer Viper Mini:

  • Length: 118.3 mm
  • Width: 53.5 mm
  • Height: 38.3 mm

And it uses a lower grade sensor in the 3359.

But it’s important to note that the 3359 is absolutely not a bad sensor. The 3359 sensor can track accurately up to 8,500 DPI.

In other words, if you play Fortnite using a low DPI then you’re going to be absolutely fine and you will have no problems with the sensor of the Viper Mini. You should use a low DPI anyway, and all the best Fortnite players use a low DPI.

Look, high DPI sensors on a mouse are a marketing myth and using a DPI in the high thousands for a shooter game like Fortnite that requires you to be precise with your aim is just silly.

In regards to the design, the Viper Mini has the quality design you would expect from a Razer mouse. Using the Razer optical mouse switches that are rated for 50 million clicks and the flexible Razer Speedflex cable.

The Razer Viper Mini is an excellent mouse and I don’t understand why Razer is selling it for such a cheap price when they could have easily sold it for a lot more. But I’m not complaining.

2. Glorious Model O

Glorious Model O gaming mouse

The Glorious Model O is an excellent gaming mouse for the price and the size and shape will suit most people with average-sized hands.

Glorious have a whole line of gaming mice and they are all priced at $49.99.

Here are the measurements of the Glorious Model O:

  • Length: 128 mm
  • Width: 66 mm
  • Height: 37.5 mm
  • Weight: 67 grams

But if the size and shape of the Model O aren’t right for you, then Glorious also have the Model O Minus and Model D. Read on for the sizes of those.

Here are the measurements of the Glorious Model O Minus:

  • Length: 120 mm
  • Width: 63 mm
  • Height: 36 mm
  • Weight: 58 grams

So the Model O Minus is the smaller and lighter mouse, making it a solid choice if you have small hands or prefer a small mouse.

Here are the measurements of the Glorious Model D:

  • Length: 128 mm
  • Width: 67 mm
  • Height: 42 mm
  • Weight: 68 grams

The Model D is a slightly different shape in that it’s an ergonomic design (whereas the Model O is ambidextrous). It’s also slightly wider and taller meaning it will fill out your hand more. So choose the Model D if your hands are larger than average.

Each of the Glorious mice uses a top 3360 sensor so you’ll have no issues with your mouse tracking, and the Ascended Cord cable a proprietary braided cable that’s ultra-flexible and lightweight.

For some reason, Glorious mice are typically more expensive on Amazon. So I suggest you check it out on the official Glorious website to get the cheapest price via the link below.

3. Cooler Master MM710

Cooler Master MM710 gaming mouse

The Cooler Master MM710 is a great mouse. And it’s the lightest on this list weighing in at just 53 grams, using a honeycomb design to achieve the light weight.

You can read my full Cooler Master MM710 review here.

Here are the measurements of the Cooler Master MM710:

  • Length: 116.6 mm
  • Width: 62.6 mm
  • Height: 38.3 mm

Its shape is ambidextrous and the small form factor may not suit everybody, but this mouse has a fairly wide grip width so it does fill out your hands more than you think. The short length means its best used with a claw or fingertip grip.

The MM710 uses the PixArt PMW3389, which is top of the range and you’ll have absolutely no troubles tracking with this sensor.

Also, the MM710 uses the new Cooler Master ultraweave cable that’s composed of durable yet flexible material. This cable is so soft and flexible and it feels wireless when you play.

With the MM710, you get a Finalmouse quality mouse at a fraction of the price.

4. Logitech G502 Hero

Logitech G502 Hero gaming mouse

The Logitech G502 has a bit of a reputation when it comes to Fortnite.

You see, this is the mouse that Ninja was using in the early seasons of Fortnite when the game was starting to blow up.

It was my first Fortnite mouse as well, and you can check out my Logitech G502 review here.

The G502 is a special kind of mouse because it has 11 fully programmable buttons. So you can bind all your building pieces to it and still have some left over.

Imagine you could build in Fortnite using only the buttons on your mouse, then your left hand is free to be focused entirely on your keyboard and your movement.

Here are the measurements of the Logitech G502:

  • Length: 132 mm
  • Width: 75 mm
  • Height: 40 mm

So the G502 is a fairly big mouse (it has to be in order to fit all of the buttons on it).

Also, the G502 is quite heavy as it weighs 121 grams, meaning it’s the heaviest mouse on this list.

Of course, the Hero is Logitech’s accurate gaming sensor that’s capable across the entire spectrum of DPI up to 16,000.

Most Fortnite players are moving to a lighter mouse. But some players do prefer a heavier mouse because the weight can help to steady your aim, particularly when nerves set in.

Logitech recently released a Lightspeed wireless version of the G502 that’s a lot more expensive. But that means the price of the Logitech G502 has been coming down, so you can get an exceptional piece of hardware for a cheap price.

5. Logitech G305

Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse

The Logitech G305 is the only wireless mouse on this list.

So if you’re looking for a cheap mouse that’s small, lightweight, and wireless, then the G305 is the choice for you.

This is one of my favorite mice for Fortnite and one that I continually come back to using. You can read my full review of the Logitech G305 here.

Here are the measurements of the Logitech G305:

  • Length: 116.6 mm
  • Width: 62.15 mm
  • Height: 38.2 mm

So this is a short mouse, but it’s fairly flat and wide. Many refer to the shape of the G305 as an egg and its ambidextrous design is best suited for claw and fingertip grip.

The G305 weighs 99 grams, which is light for a wireless mouse. But you can get the weight down to roughly 89 grams when you use a lithium battery.

I recommend that you use a lithium battery with your G305 because not only does it help to reduce the weight, but it also helps with the weight distribution so your mouse actually feels better when you play Fortnite.

Of course, it’s a wireless mouse. And wireless mice have a reputation being bad for gaming because of the delay.

Now, let me explain why this is not a concern with the G305.

You see, the G305 uses Logitech’s Lightspeed technology. Lightspeed is a wireless solution that solves the problem of latency and achieves a 1 ms response rate.

In other words, any delay when using the G305 is imperceptible and you’re not going to be able to tell that this is a wireless mouse because Lightspeed is so good.

An obvious advantage of a wireless mouse is that you don’t have to worry about cable drag so your mouse movements are consistent, and you don’t have to get a mouse bungee.

The G305 uses Logitech’s revolutionary Hero sensor that delivers accurate tracking with zero smoothing, filtering, or acceleration.

And the extreme efficiency of the Hero sensor means you can game for up to 250 hours with a single battery, and potentially longer when you use a lithium battery.

Overall, the G305 offers much of what you get with a G Pro Wireless for a fraction of the price.

6. Logitech G403

Logitech G403 gaming mouse

The Logitech G403 is a classic ergonomic shaped mouse that is loved by shooter players.

This safe shape has rubber grips on both the left and right side so you have more control when you’re playing Fortnite.

Here are the measurements of the Logitech G403:

  • Length: 124 mm
  • Width: 68 mm
  • Height: 43 mm

So this isn’t a particularly long mouse, but the width and height means this will suit gamers with average length hands and above-average width.

The weight is 87 grams, so there are certainly lighter mice. But the G403 is still an acceptable weight and it has good distribution.

The G403 is a little dated now and the cable is thick and not very flexible. But you can get this mouse for cheap, especially if you can catch it on a sale.

>> Click here to view the Logitech G403 on Amazon.

7. Logitech G203

Logitech G203 gaming mouse

The Logitech G203 is the ultimate budget mouse.

You can get it for less than $30, so it’s the cheapest mouse on this list. And the amount of performance you get for the price of the G203 is truly outstanding.

Here are the measurements of the Logitech G203:

  • Length: 116.6 mm
  • Width: 62.15 mm
  • Height: 38.2 mm

So the G203 is basically a wired G305. Except, the G203 is cheaper and lighter (even if you use a lithium battery with the G305) because it weighs just 85 grams.

The G203 takes its design inspiration from the Logitech G100 series of mice that were a favorite with competitive gamers and pro players.

The G203 uses the older Mercury sensor from Logitech. But this is still an excellent sensor even by todays standards and will enable your mouse to track accurately from as low as 200 DPI to as high as 8,000 DPI.

So if you play Fortnite using a low DPI (as you should) then you’re going to face no problems with the sensor.

It uses Logitech’s mechanical button tensioning so your clicks are consistent and responsive. Many believe that Logitech’s left and right mouse button clicks are the best in the indstry.

If you’re into RGB, then the G203 also has Lightsync technology providing RGB lighting from a full spectrum of millions of colors and lighting effects. You can customize the colors easily using the Logitech G Hub.

While the G203 is definitely a budget mouse and is a few years old now, it’s still the number one choice for some of the best aimers in the world, which is a testament to the quality of this cheap mouse.

Having the best mouse pad is an essential part of your Fortnite set up.

A good quality mouse pad will improve the control of your mouse movements so you can aim better and hit more shots.

If you’re in a hurry, here are links so you can jump to a section:

Consider your mouse pad as an important part of your gaming set up alongside the best mouse that you can get your hands on.

In this post, you’ll find a list of the best mouse pads available for Fortnite right now as well as useful information to help you find a mouse pad that’s perfect for you.

There are many different types of mouse pads that you can get and there is an option here for every type of player and budget.

Here are the top mouse pads you can get for Fortnite today.

1. Zowie G-SR-SE

Zowie G-SR-SE Mouse Pad in Deep Blue

The Zowie G-SR-SE is the best mouse pad that you can get for Fortnite right now.

This mouse pad is a popular choice among the best Fortnite players in the world.

The Zowie G-SR-SE is a control mouse pad with high stopping power. This is important for Fortnite because you want the ability to stop your mouse exactly where you want to.

Some notable Fortnite players that use the Zowie G-SR-SE are Bugha, Benjyfishy, Zayt, Mitr0, and Bizzle, to name only a few pro players.

Also, the Zowie G-SR-SE is the mouse pad of choice for many of the best aimers in the world. For example, in a recent Kovaak’s FPS Aim Trainer tournament, the top 3 players were all using the G-SR-SE.

The Zowie G-SR-SE is a cloth mouse pad with a rubber base. The unique soft rubber base is 100% flat and has a consistent glide across the mouse pad.

Here are the dimensions of the Zowie G-SR-SE:

  • Width: 470 mm
  • Height: 390 mm
  • Thickness: 3.5 mm

So what makes the Zowie G-SR-SE such a great mouse pad for Fortnite?

Firstly, it’s a good size. As you know, you want a mouse pad for Fortnite that’s big enough so you don’t run out of space when you swipe your mouse across the surface.

And the G-SR-SE is a nice thickness so it will be comfortable when you rest your arm on it while playing Fortnite for a long period of time.

But the main reason that the Zowie G-SR-SE is so good for Fortnite is that it’s the best control pad you can get. A control pad has high stopping power so it’s easier to stop your mouse exactly where you want to.

The G-SR-SE provides a different glide from the regular black G-SR. There is less dynamic friction so it will glide better and micro-corrections with your mouse can be made easier.

You can get the G-SR-SE in a few different colors and designs. There is the red and blue versions, as well as the Divina blue and pink versions.

Surprisingly, the Divina pink is the most popular choice with Fortnite pro players. All versions of the G-SR-SE are the exact same feel and quality because of the coating and only the design is different.

But the G-SR-SE can be a difficult mouse to get ahold of because it’s a special mouse pad and there’s a lot of demand for it.

2. Glorious 3XL Extended

Glorious 3XL Extended Mouse Pad

The Glorious 3XL Extended is the world’s largest mouse pad and it’s one that’s very popular with Fortnite players.

If you’re looking for an extra-large mouse pad that can literally cover the entire surface area of your desk, then get the Glorious 3XL Extended.

Here are the dimensions of the Glorious 3XL Extended:

  • Width: 1220 mm
  • Height: 610 mm
  • Thickness: 3 mm

The Glorious 3XL Extended is a cloth pad with stitched edges to prevent it from fraying, therefore increasing the lifespan of your mouse pad.

This is another control mouse pad with high stopping power, which means that it’s easier to stop your mouse exactly what you want to.

A concern is that a mouse pad of this size will easily pick up dirt and other things and start to look ugly. Don’t worry because it’s machine washable and even after dozens of washes it will still look and feel amazing.

Of course, not everyone wants a super large mouse pad, and you may not have the desk space for it. Fortunately, the Glorious stitched cloth mouse pad is available in various other sizes so you can find the one that’s right for you.

And if your Glorious mouse pad has any issues, Glorious will provide you with a replacement free of charge (up to one year from date of purchase).

>> Click here to view the Glorious 3XL Extended Mouse Pad on Amazon.

3. Logitech G640

Logitech G640 Mouse Pad

The Logitech G640 is an excellent cloth pad from one of the most well known and trusted brands in the gaming industry, and it’s the mouse pad of choice for a bunch of pro Fortnite players.

This is a medium friction pad, which gives you a healthy balance of stopping power and glide to give you good control when you need to suddenly stop your mouse and when making micro-corrections.

Here are the dimensions of the Logitech G640:

  • Width: 460 mm
  • Height: 400 mm
  • Thickness: 3 mm

The G640 is designed for consistent performance and has a consistent surface texture, so you should have absolutely no issues with your mouse movements.

It has a rubber surface that helps to keep the mouse pad in place and prevent the cloth from bunching up and interfering with your mouse movement.

Because the G640 is made of flexible cloth it rolls up easily for transport and it lays flat for when you’re ready to play. And you can protect it when traveling by using the durable hexagonal packaging.

The one downside of the G640 is that many users find that it loses its glide fairly easily. But that means you will have greater control as this mouse pad wears in, which some users may prefer.

>> Click here to view the Logitech G640 Mouse Pad on Amazon.

4. SteelSeries QcK+

SteelSeries QcK+ Mouse Pad

The SteelSeries QcK is the best selling mouse pad of all time and more competitive tournaments have been won using it than any other mouse pad.

If you look at the desks at any LAN tournament, then you’re guaranteed to see at least a few SteelSeries QcK mouse pads.

I don’t think you can make a post about the best mouse pads for Fortnite without mentioning the legendary QcK.

Here are the dimensions of the SteelSeries QcK:

  • Width: 450 mm
  • Height: 400 mm
  • Thickness: 2 mm

So the QcK isn’t as thick as some of the other pads on this list. But, in my opinion, it offers enough comfort for my arm.

If you want a thicker mouse pad, then you may want to consider the SteelSeries QcK Heavy that has a thickness of 6 mm.

The QcK is a very “safe” mouse pad that offers excellent control and high stopping power. It was my first mouse pad for Fortnite and it will be suitable for the vast majority of Fortnite players.

Also, you can get it for a very attractive price.

>> Click here to view the SteelSeries QcK+ Mouse Pad on Amazon.

5. HyperX Fury S Pro

HyperX Fury S Pro mouse pad

The HyperX Fury S Pro is another popular choice with Fortnite pro players.

The HyperX Fury S Pro is a medium speed pad and it’s available for a surprisingly cheap price given the quality and brand.

Here are the dimensions of the HyperX Fury S Pro:

  • Width: 450 mm
  • Height: 400 mm
  • Thickness: 4 mm

So it’s a standard size large cloth mouse pad that’s fairly thick.

It has seamlessly stitched anti-fray edges and a densely woven surface for accurate tracking with your mouse movements.

The HyperX Fury S Pro has a long glide lifespan, so it will take a lot of use until you begin to notice any difference. And washing this mouse pad can help to revive the glide that you get out of the box.

One advantage of the HyperX Fury S Pro is that it doesn’t collect hair and dust like a lot of other mouse pads.

>> Click here to view the HyperX Fury S Pro Mouse Pad on Amazon.

6. Glorious Helios

Glorious Helios mouse pad

The Glorious Helios is a hard mouse pad, and the only hard pad on this list.

Why?

Well, hard pads are lower friction so have a higher glide and less stopping power. In other words, they offer less control than a typical cloth pad.

In general, you want a mouse pad that offers a lot of control and stopping power for when you play Fortnite, so you can stop the mouse exactly where you want to.

Also, hard pads usually aren’t available in a large enough size to be appropriate for most Fortnite players. But the Glorious Helios is one of the few hard pads you can get that’s large enough for playing Fortnite.

Here are the dimensions of the Glorious Helios:

  • Width: 457 mm
  • Height: 406 mm
  • Thickness: 0.5 mm

So the Glorious Helios is an ultra-thin plastic gaming mouse that literally attaches onto your desk. Because it’s so thin, it gives you excellent control over your tracking movements and micro-corrections without feeling like a mouse pad is there.

When you play Fortnite using a hard pad, you’ll find that micro-corrections are easier and your tracking aim will be smooth and free from any jitter that can be caused by a cloth pad.

The Helios is made from a hard polycarbonate surface that’s water and tear resistant. It also has a strong silicone adhesive base, so your mouse pad doesn’t move when you’re gaming.

Hard pads are more consistent than coth pads because they won’t change as a result of the weather or humidity, as well.

Something to consider is that because the Glorious Helios is a hard mouse pad, it can delete your mouse feet.

If you’re looking for a mouse pad that has a much different feel than your usual cloth pad, then the Glorious Helios is the hard pad to try.

>> Click here to view the Glorious Helios Mouse Pad on Amazon.

7. Zowie G-SR

Zowie G-SR mouse pad

The Zowie G-SR is the slowest mouse pad on this list.

While the standard G-SR isn’t as popular with Fortnite pro players as the G-SR-SE, it is still used by many of the best Fortnite players and aimers in the world.

Here are the dimensions of the Zowie G-SR:

  • Width: 470 mm
  • Height: 390 mm
  • Thickness: 3.5 mm

The G-SR doesn’t have the coating of the G-SR-SE, so it is a more standard feeling cloth pad. Also, because of the lack of coating, washing the G-SR can help to restore some of the glide that you get when you first use the mouse.

In general, you will want to wash the G-SR about every 3 months. Otherwise, it can begin to feel too slow and micro-corrections and tracking can become difficult.

If you’re looking for a plain black mouse pad that offers tremendous control over your mouse movements as a result of the high stopping power, the G-SR is a top choice.

8. Dechanic Control

Dechanic Control mouse pad

The Dechanic Control is a relatively unknown mouse pad, and one that I’m sure you haven’t heard of before.

But some members of the mouse pad community and the best aimers have picked this one out of obscurity and it’s getting a reputation as one of the top pads that you can get.

There are a few different options in regards to the size of the Dechanic Control, including some extended pads and heavy pads that are more thick and could provide more comfort for when you rest your arm.

I recommend that you at least get the extra-large sized Dechanic Control, which has the following dimensions:

  • Width: 450 mm
  • Height: 400 mm
  • Thickness: 3 mm

The Dechanic Control, despite its name, is a fairly quick mouse pad. It has low dynamic friction so it will glide well. And it also has a good amount of stopping power to give you the control you need to stop the mouse at the precise moment.

The other mouse pad that Dechanic offers is the Dechanic Speed. Oddly, the Dechanic Speed is actually slower than the Dechanic Control.

And the Dechanic Control is the more popular choice, offering very high stopping power in tandem with low dynamic friction to create an interesting and well-balanced pad that’s available at an attractive price.

9. Roccat Taito

The Roccat Taito is a seriously underused mouse pad and I don’t know why. It could possibly be because Roccat isn’t as strong a brand as some of the others on this list.

You see, there are only a handful of Fortnite pros that use the Roccat Taito, including one the very best players in the world, MrSavage.

There are a few different available sizes for the Taito. But the king-size and XXL-wide are the best sizes for Fortnite players.

Here are the dimensions for the Roccat Taito king-size:

  • Width: 455 mm
  • Height: 370 mm
  • Thickness: 3 mm

Here are the dimensions for the Roccat Taito XXL-Wide:

  • Width: 900 mm
  • Height: 330 mm
  • Thickness: 3 mm

Personally, I would have liked to have seen them increase the height on the XXL-wide size because some users may run out of vertical movement, so bear that in mind.

Anyway, the Roccat Taito is an excellent control mouse pad that rivals the offerings of much more expensive pads. And it’s durable so the feel of the mouse pad should last you a long time.

10. Cooler Master MP510

The Cooler Master MP510 uses a special kind of Cordura fabric. This delivers responsiveness, durability, and water resistance. So you don’t have to worry about sweat or humidity negatively impacting your performance.

The texture of the MP510 gives it a different feel to most cloth pads, and I would say it feels more like a hybrid pad than anything else.

You can read my full review of the Cooler Master MP510 mouse pad here.

The MP510 comes in a few different sizes. Small, medium, large, and extra-large. But I would recommend getting at least the large size for Fortnite.

Here are the measurements for the Cooler Master MP510 large:

  • Width: 450 mm
  • Height: 350 mm
  • Thickness: 3 mm

Oddly, Cooler Master decided to make the height of the MP510 only 350 mm, which is about 50 mm shorter than the standard mouse pad of this size. This isn’t a deal-breaker for me because I don’t rest my whole forearm on the desk, but it is something for you to consider if you need the extra vertical room.

If you are looking for an extended mouse pad that can cover more of your desk, then get the extra-large size.

Here are the measurements for the Cooler Master MP510 extra-large:

  • Width: 900 mm
  • Height: 400 mm
  • Thickness: 3 mm

The MP510 has a balance of speed and control, but some tests have shown that the MP510 is more of a control pad.

Some users may find the rough texture of the MP510 irritates their skin. This was a concern for me because I have sensitive skin, but I have had no problems with the texture.

Also, some users have reported that the MP510 has different speeds in the X and Y axis. But I do not believe this to be true because when I have isolated horizontal and vertical tracking I have seen or felt no difference and it performs superbly in both axes.

Overall, the MP510 is a top quality mouse pad that’s durable, offers a different feel to most other pads, and you can get it for an affordable price.

Which type of mouse pad is best for Fortnite?

You have two choices when it comes to the type of mouse pads that are available to you. Hard pads and cloth pads.

  • Hard mouse pads are low friction and high glide. They offer less control but micro-corrections are made easier
  • Cloth mouse pads are high friction and low glide. So they have more control and it’s easier to stop your mouse where you want to

Cloth pads, in general, are thicker than hard pads and this can offer greater comfort as you play.

Cloth pads are also more widely available in a variety of different sizes and textures, so you have a greater choice. It can be difficult to find an appropriately sized hard mouse pad for Fortnite.

But the texture of cloth pads means they’re more likely to be influenced by factors such as humidity and sweat. The surface of hard pads is very consistent.

You can wear a sports sleeve when gaming to help keep the surface of your cloth mouse pad consistent regardless of external conditions.

Hard pads also have a scratchy surface that can quickly wear out the feet of your mouse.

So which mouse pad type is best for Fortnite?

In my opinion, cloth pads are better than hard pads for Fortnite. Because Fortnite is a game that relies mostly on click-timing aim and the ability to stop your mouse exactly where you want to with a high friction pad is more important.

You also have glass mouse pads. Glass mouse pads are low friction and high glide, like hard pads.

Glass mouse pads aren’t widely used yet and the few options that are available are very expensive, so I haven’t recommended any throughout this post.

How to buy the best mouse pad for you

Mouse pads are often an overlooked gaming accessory, but it’s important that you get the right one if you want to play to your full potential.

It shouldn’t be surprising that all of the best Fortnite players use a top tier mouse pad.

There are two key factors to consider when you choose a mouse pad for Fortnite:

  1. Size – You want a mouse pad that’s big enough so you don’t run out of space. You make a lot of large movements when you play Fortnite in both the horizontal and vertical axis, so I recommend you get a mouse pad that’s at least 400 mm wide and 350 mm high.
  2. Texture – As you know, there are two main choices when it comes to the texture of your mouse pad, hard and cloth. For most people, a control cloth pad with high stopping power is best for Fortnite.

As you make your decision about the mouse pad to buy you should consider what you’re good at in regards to your mouse movements.

For example, if you’re tracking aim is good but your flicking is poor, then you’ll want a slower pad to compensate. And if it’s the opposite, then you’ll want a faster pad.

You can watch your own gameplay back to see what you’re good at and what you need to improve on.

Of course, you can train to improve both your flicking and tracking aim by using an aim trainer like Kovaak’s FPS Aim Trainer. Here’s my guide to Kovaak’s along with complete routines to help improve your aim.

Getting a good mouse pad isn’t going to instantly turn you into an aim beast. You still must take the time to practice and improve your mouse feel.

But when you have the right mouse pad, you’ll find it much easier to train and improve and your potential to get great aim increases.

What is the best mouse pad for Fortnite?

As of right now, the Zowie G-SR-SE is the best mouse pad you can get for Fortnite because it’s the best control pad.

The Zowie G-SR is another top choice for a control pad. But some users may find that it’s too slow, especially as it wears with use.

If you’re looking for something else, you have some options:

  • The Logitech G640 and HyperX Pro Fury S are top mouse pads choices for someone that wants less stopping power and more glide
  • The SteelSeries QcK+ is a very safe option for Fortnite and an excellent choice for someone on a budget
  • The Glorious Helios is the best hard pad you can get and offers something different than you’ll get with a typical cloth pad
  • The Dechanic Control and Cooler Master MP510 are great choices for someone looking for a quicker and different feel than you’ll usually get from cloth pads, while still offering good stopping power

Ultimately, there are a lot of good choices when it comes to mouse pads for Fortnite. And if you want to find your perfect mouse pad, then you’re going to have to try them to find out what works best for you.

I hope you’ve found this post helpful in selecting a mouse pad. If you have any questions or want a specific mouse pad recommendation, then leave a comment below and I will reply to you.

I love small mice so I was excited to try the Cooler Master MM710.

It’s a small form factor and ultra-lightweight gaming mouse that’s highly rated.

For many I expect this could be the end game mouse.

When I found out that the delivery was going to be made a day earlier than expected, I was eagerly tracking the driver online until he arrived at my home.

The package was left at my doorstep because of the current situation. I quickly ran down to collect it and when I picked the package up I thought there had been a mistake.

The package was just too light.

Was there really a mouse in here?

Unpacking the MM710

The box that the MM710 comes in has the classic purple and black colors that you expect from Cooler Master products. It’s well packaged, easy to open, and even comes with extra mouse feet.

Cooler Master’s MM710 is the first ultra-lightweight mouse that I’ve tried, and as I took it from the box and held it in my hands I couldn’t help but wonder how a mouse could be so light.

Cooler Master MM710 mouse on top of the box

Weighing just 53 grams, the MM710 is one of the lightest gaming mice you can get right now. And although it’s incredibly light, it doesn’t feel flimsy.

The thing that really struck me other than the weight is the cable. The MM710 uses the new Cooler Master ultraweave cable that is composed of durable yet flexible material.

The cable is so soft and flexible that it feels like there’s nothing there at all. The MM710 has the best stock cable of any mouse that I’ve ever used.

I know that many users have reported problems with the build quality of the MM710. But I think that was from the first batch of mice and I must have gotten a newer batch because mine felt solid.

Even with some pretty violent shaking of the mouse, I can hear no rattling.

When I squeeze the MM710 from the top and bottom then the middle of the mouse does click. But this does not cause any of the buttons to action.

When I squeeze the MM710 from the sides I can get the back side mouse button to click. But I have to squeeze the mouse pretty hard for this to happen.

Overall, when using the MM710 for gaming I have had absolutely zero problems. In my opinion, the build quality is very good.

You would need to be squeezing the mouse with the strength of the Hulk to encounter any of the previously mentioned clicking issues when gaming.

First thoughts when gaming with the MM710

As I loaded up my first game using the MM710, something didn’t feel right.

Things felt faster.

I thought this was because the mouse was so light that the force I was usually applying to the mouse was making things feel more sensitive.

But on further investigation, I discovered that the MM710 actually uses a default mouse DPI of 1200. So because I play using 800 DPI, this meant I was using a sensitivity 50% higher than usual.

You should bear this default DPI in mind when you use the MM710. You can adjust your in-game sensitivity according to the 1200 DPI and if you’re a Fortnite player you can use my eDPI calculator to help with the conversion.

Or you can adjust the DPI using a button on the top of the mouse until you get the setting that you want.

You can also change the DPI settings using the Cooler Master software (I’ll discuss the software in more detail as you read on).

Anyway, the main games I play are Fortnite, Kovaak’s FPS Aim Trainer, and Overwatch. In other words, I play shooter games and I will talk a bit about how the MM710 performs for these types of games.

Because the MM710 is small, lightweight and uses the top PixArt PMW3389 sensor, it’s a perfect candidate for shooter games.

The ambidextrous shape and small size means its best used with a claw or fingertip grip. But you could use a palm grip if your hands are small enough.

My hands gripping the MM710 with a claw grip

In Fortnite, I have my walls and stairs bound to the side mouse buttons, so it’s important the mouse I use has good side mouse buttons because I use them a lot. The side mouse buttons on the Cooler Master MM710 are crisp and well positioned so I can easily press them with my thumb.

The first day that I was playing Fortnite with the MM710 I actually ended up getting 3 straight wins in a row with my friends, and I had fairly high-kill games. This is not a regular occurrence for me since SBMM was added to Fortnite.

So I have to attribute some of my gaming success to the MM710.

Both my tracking aim and flicks feel good when using the MM710.

MM710 Software

The Cooler Master MasterPlus software has everything that you would expect from software for a mouse and a few extra features.

Cooler Master MasterPlus software for MM710 mouse

You can set up to 7 levels of DPI and you can even set different X and Y DPI, which is something that I’ve not seen before. Your DPI can be changed in increments of 100.

The DPI can be set as high as 16000 but I doubt anyone would go this high. Personally, I just use 800 DPI (for both X and Y) since low DPI is best for shooters.

You can set up macros, change the buttons and create different profiles.

You can set your polling rate to either 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, or 1000Hz. The default is 1000Hz and this is what I use since it’s the best polling rate because it has the lowest response time.

The additional features from the software is the ability to set surface tuning and angle tunability.

If you use your mouse at an angle you can set your angle tunability between -30 and 30 degrees, so your MM710 will behave as if you were holding it straight.

Thoughts on the design

I got the black matte finish of the MM710. Although you can get it in glossy black or white, as well.

Black really suits my set up and now all my equipment is Cooler Master. I use the MP510 mouse pad and MasterKeys keyboard. It wasn’t my intention to go full Cooler Master, but that’s how things have turned out.

My all Cooler Master set up with MM710 mouse, MasterKeys keyboard and MP510 mouse pad

In general, I’m not a fan of the honeycomb design for mice. But it does help to get the weight down, so it’s a necessary evil.

The holes on the MM710 are a little larger than other mice with the honeycomb design. Some users may have problems with the size of their holes, but this hasn’t been a problem for me.

You see, there are no holes where you place your main (index, second, and ring) fingers or thumb. Sometimes my pinky rests on a hole because of the way I grip the mouse but this causes me no issues.

If you use a fingertip grip and place your fingers far back on the mouse then your clicking fingers could rest on the holes. You may or may not like this, and it’s something to bear in mind.

Overall, I like the minimalist black design of the MM710.

Things I don’t like about the MM710

In general, I really like the shape of the MM710.

But I find the hump position is too far back.

I have 18×9 cm hands with fairly long fingers and I find mice with a slightly more centered hump to be more comfortable. So I find the MM710 is a little uncomfortable.

Also, the middle mouse button click (or scroll wheel click) is really stuff. The amount of force you have to apply is too high and I can imagine it causing some pain to users that repeatedly try to click it.

Fortunately, I don’t use the middle mouse button for any of my keybinds in Fortnite or any other games, so this isn’t a problem for me.

But if you use your middle mouse button click for something important then you may struggle to use it with the MM710 and you’ll have to find an alternative keybind.

One of the biggest criticisms of the MM710 is the sensor position being too far back. But as someone that uses a sensitivity of roughly 25cm/360 I had no issues with the sensor position.

Conclusion

The Cooler Master MM710 could be an end game mouse for a lot of people.

It’s small, lightweight, has a top sensor, the best stock cable of any mouse I’ve ever had, and has an excellent shape for claw or fingertip grip.

For a mouse of this standard, you would expect to pay a premium price, but you can get the MM710 for less than $50.

The MM710 rivals the mouse offerings from top brands such as Finalmouse for a fraction of the price.

As of writing, the MM710 is my main mouse.

But I think there’s something better out there for me and I will continue my search for the perfect mouse.

Are you looking for the best mouse to help you win at Fortnite?

Your mouse is one of the most important pieces of gaming equipment you’ll own.

So you need to make the right choice if you want to play to your full potential.

You’ve come to the right place. In this post, you’ll find a ranking of the best gaming mice you can get for Fortnite right now, as well as useful information to help you with your decision.

There are options for every type of player and budget. So whether you’re looking for an ambidextrous or ergonomic shape, large or small size, wired, or wireless, there is a mouse for you.

To keep your mouse performing at the highest level, you’ll want to get a mouse pad as well. See here for the top mouse pad picks for Fortnite.

If you’re not happy with your current mouse but can’t afford a new one right now, a new mouse pad can help to improve your situation.

Here are the top gaming mice you can get for Fortnite today.

1. Logitech G Pro Wireless

Logitech G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse

The Logitech G Pro Wireless is the best mouse that you can get for Fortnite right now.

This mouse is the most popular choice among the best Fortnite players in the world, with over a quarter choosing the Logitech G Pro Wireless over any other mouse.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Logitech G Pro Wireless: ZexRow, Psalm, Nayte, Martoz, Hamlinz, Kinstaar.

The G Pro Wireless uses the latest version of the HERO sensor, which is the highest performing and efficient sensor available. And it weighs just 80 grams, meaning it’s very light, especially for a wireless mouse.

You want a light mouse for Fortnite because you will be doing a lot of large swiping movements when you build. The Logitech G Pro Wireless is 20% under the 100 grams benchmark you want for shooter games like Fortnite.

The shape is ambidextrous so it’s suitable for any grip style. So you can play with it using a palm, fingertips, or claw grip.

And because it has buttons on both sides you can use it even if you’re left-handed.

Here are the measurements of the Logitech G Pro Wireless:

  • Length: 125 mm
  • Width: 63.5 mm
  • Height: 40 mm

So it’s a medium-size mouse and will be an adequate size for most males with average-size hands.

Of course, it’s wireless. And aren’t wireless mice bad for gaming?

No. In the old days wireless mouse were bad for gaming because they had a high response rate. But that’s not the case anymore, at least not with Logitech mice.

You see, the G Pro Wireless uses Logitech’s Lightspeed 2.4 GHz wireless communication format and has a 1000 Hz (1ms) response rate. In other words, any delay is imperceptible and you’re not going to be able to tell that it’s a wireless mouse.

What about battery life?

Obviously, you don’t want to run out of battery power when you’re in the heat of the battle. Because the G Pro Wireless uses the increased efficiency of the HERO sensor it uses 10x less power, enabling a lighter battery and longer battery life.

Also, the G Pro Wireless is compatible with the Logitech G Powerplay Wireless Charging System so you never have to worry about battery life again.

All things considered, the Logitech G Pro Wireless is an exceptional mouse.

2. Finalmouse Air58 Ninja

Finalmouse Air58 Ninja in Cherry Blossom Red

The Finalmouse Air58 Ninja was made in collaboration with arguably the most famous Fortnite player of all time, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.

Of course, you already knew that.

But if you thought a mouse made with a gamer would be bad, then you are wrong.

Because Finalmouse absolutely knocked it out the park with this mouse and made a mouse that’s incredibly popular with some of the best Fortnite players, including World Cup winner Bugha.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Finalmouse Air 58 Ninja: Ninja, Bugha, Benjyfishy, Dubs, Cizzorz, Chap, Vivid, Bizzle.

Let’s start by looking at its most remarkable feature, the weight.

The Air58 Ninja gets its name because of how much it weighs: 58 grams. This makes it one of the lightest mice available and was the first mouse to really start pushing the boundaries of how light a mouse could get.

But the question is, is it too light?

And the answer is no. It doesn’t seem like we’ve gotten to the point where a mouse can be too light. At least not yet.

Here are the measurements of the Finalmouse Air58 Ninja:

  • Length: 129 mm
  • Width: 66 mm
  • Height: 40 mm

So the Air58 Ninja is a fairly large mouse with it being noticeably longer than the Logitech G Pro Wireless.

Of course, the Air58 Ninja was designed for Ninja himself. Since Ninja is 6 ft 1 inch in height, we can assume he has fairly large hands.

Finalmouse uses its legendary Phantomcord mouse cable for the Air58 Ninja. This is a soft and flexible cable that’s so good that you won’t need a mouse bungee because it almost feels wireless.

The sensor is the same as the Ultralight Pro and Phantom, which is the best in class.

For the design, the Air58 Ninja is hand-painted with engraved and individualized Haiku Scrolls on ever mouth. In other words, the Haiku and therefore the mouse itself are unique to you.

You can get the Air58 Ninja in two stunning colors: cherry blossom red or cherry blossom blue. Although, Fortnite pro players seem to favor the red variant.

If you have the right side hands for the Air58 Ninja then consider yourself lucky because it’s truly a tremendous mouse.

But it’s quite hard to get ahold of because there’s so much demand for it. So make sure you’re regularly checking for an update in stock.

3. Razer Viper Ultimate

Razer Viper Ultimate wireless gaming mouse

The main rival to the Logitech G Pro Wireless is the recent Razer Viper Ultimate.

For a while, Razer was a bit of a meme in the gaming peripheral circle and was known for creating overpriced products that weren’t the best quality.

But the recent Viper line of mice has shown a dramatic turn in the right direction from the company. They really listened to the community to create an amazing mouse and really shake things up.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Razer Viper Ultimate: Tfue, SypherPK, Mitr0.

The Viper Ultimate is the lightest wireless eSports gaming mouse weighing just 74 grams. The ambidextrous design with buttons on both the left and right side means it’s usable for standard right-hand use and lefties, too.

And the Razer Optical Mouse Switches are rated for 70 million clicks, so it will last you a lifetime.

Here are the measurements of the Razer Viper Ultimate:

  • Length: 126.7 mm
  • Width: 66.2 mm
  • Height: 37.8 mm

Of course, if wireless mice aren’t your thing, Razer also has the standard Viper, which weighs 6 grams less and is available for roughly half the price.

And if the size of the mouse isn’t right for you, then Razer also has a smaller option in the Razer Viper Mini. The Viper Mini weighs just 60 grams so it’s the lightest of the 3 mice.

Here are the measurements of the Razer Viper Mini:

  • Length: 118.3 mm
  • Width: 53.5 mm
  • Height: 38.3 mm

The Viper Mini is almost half the price of the Viper and roughly a third of the price of the Viper Ultimate. So if you go for the Viper Mini then you will be making a significant cost saving.

But Razer decided to go for a lower grade sensor and removed the buttons on the right-hand side of the Viper Mini. So bear this in mind before you get this mouse.

I think that the Viper Ultimate is going to be the top mouse choice for most Fortnite players because the size will appeal to the most amount of people.

Personally, I hope we see a Razer Viper Mini Ultimate soon.

4. Finalmouse Ultralight 2

Finalmouse Ultralight 2 gaming mouse

The Finalmouse Ultralight 2 is the latest mouse from Finalmouse.

And they really took it to another level with the Ultralight 2, somehow getting the weight down to just 47 grams. Making it the lightest mouse available right now.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Finalmouse Ultralight 2: Nick Eh 30, Poach, Morgausse, Raider464.

Here are the measurements of the Finalmouse Ultralight 2:

  • Length: 116 mm
  • Width: 59.3 mm
  • Height: 36 mm

Making it the smallest mouse on this list. But because of the raw composite base, you can build over 13,000 different sizes and shape with the proprietary foam solid synthetic infinity skin.

So you can take the dimensions of the Ultralight 2 to anything you desire. As you know, shape is arguably the most important element of a mouse, and with the Ultralight 2 you’re able to actually customize the shape and size in a manner to best benefit your aim potential.

As with Finalmouse mice, the polling rate is limited to 500 Hz. But the difference between 500 Hz and 1000 Hz polling rate is just 1ms, so you’re not going to be able to tell the difference.

Of course, anything from Finalmouse is difficult to get your hands on. So make sure you keep checking to see when this mouse is available.

5. Glorious Model O

Glorious Model O Mouse in Matte Black

The Glorious Model O Mouse is from Glorious PC Gaming Race, a company started by PC gamers, for PC gamers. They provide excellent peripherals like mechanical keyboards, mouse pads, and wrist supports.

Now they have entered the gaming mouse market with the Glorious Model O, the world’s lightest RGB gaming mouse.

Here are the measurements of the Glorious Model O:

  • Length: 128 mm
  • Width: 66 mm
  • Height: 37.5 mm

So the size will be compatible with you if you have average-sized hands.

You can think of the Model O as a blend of all the very best gaming mice and this is the result. Glorious really listened to community feedback and made a mouse that we wanted.

The honeycomb shell enables it to get to the lightweight of 67 grams for the matte models and 68 grams for the glossy models.

You can get the Model O in 4 variations: matte black, matte white, glossy black, and glossy white.

For the mouse cable, it uses the Ascended Cord. A proprietary braided cable that is ultra-flexible and lightweight. The Model O comes with premium G-Skate mouse feet which are 100% pure Virgin PTFE.

Of course, if the size isn’t quite right for you, then Glorious also have the Model O Minus, which is a smaller version of the Model O.

Here are the measurements of the Glorious Model O Minus:

  • Length: 120 mm
  • Width: 63 mm
  • Height: 36 mm

So it’s shorter and narrower, which means it will be better if you have small hands.

Both the Model O and Model O Minus use a top 3360 sensor, have zero mouse acceleration, and use a 1000 Hz polling rate.

Overall the Model O and Model O Minus are excellent gaming mice for Fortnite, and they are a reasonable price.

>> Click here to view the Glorious Model O on Amazon.

6. Razer Deathadder V2

Razer DeathAdder v2 Gaming Mouse

The Razer DeathAdder is one of the oldest and most loved eSports gaming mice of all time.

And with the DeathAdder V2, Razer made things even better.

The sensor has been upgraded to the very best 3399, and it now uses Razer’s Optical Switches that have a 70 million click lifespan. And the cable has been upgraded from a standard braided cable to Razer’s speedflex cable.

Noteable Fortnite players that use the Razer DeathAdder V2: CouRage, MonsterDFace, TimTheTatMan, McCreamy.

The DeathAdder V2 is an ergonomic shape mouse.

Here are the measurements of the Razer DeathAdder V2:

  • Length: 127 mm
  • Width: 72.7 mm
  • Height: 42.7 mm

So this is a fairly large mouse, especially in regards to the width and height and you’ll want to have fairly big hands in order to get a good grip of the DeathAdder.

The new lighter form-factor gets the weight down to 82 grams, which is a significant reduction over the original DeathAdder. This makes it arguably the best large gaming mouse for Fortnite right now.

>> Click here to view the Razer DeathAdder V2 on Amazon.

7. Logitech G502 Lightspeed

Logitech G502 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse

The Logitech G502 is one of the best selling mice of all time. It also has an interesting history with Fortnite.

You see, the G502 was the mouse Ninja was using from the start. And I’m sure he inspired a lot of people to purchase this mouse, including me. You can check out my review of the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum here.

With the G502 Lightspeed, Logitech has taken everything that made the original great and made it wireless, using the Lightspeed technology that we already know is fantastic.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Logitech G502: Beaks, Camills, Dakotaz, HighDistortion

Here are the measurements of the Logitech G502:

  • Length: 132 mm
  • Width: 75 mm
  • Height: 40 mm

The most noteworthy feature of this mouse is the number of buttons. You see, the G502 has 11 programmable buttons, which is amazing for Fortnite because it means you can bind all your building pieces to the mouse and still have some buttons leftover.

But the G502 is quite heavy. Weighing in at 114 grams means it’s the heaviest on this list.

Some players do prefer a heavy mouse because it can help steady their aim, particularly when they get nervous. So bear this in mind before you completely write-off using a heavier mouse.

For everyday use, the G502 cannot be beaten and the infinite scroll wheel is one of my favorite features from a mouse, ever.

Also, if you’re interested in helping the environment then it’s worth knowing that the G502 Lightspeed is PVC free and has a Plastic Neutral Certification.

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a common, low-cost plastic used in tens of thousands of items. When it gets turned into products, it’s almost always combined with chemicals and plasticizers. And these combinations make it bad for people and the planet.

With every purchase you make, Logitech helps fund Plastic Bank programs that help remove ocean-bound plastic from the environment.

8. Cooler Master MM710

Cooler Master MM710 gaming mouse

The Cooler Master MM710 is an ultra-lightweight small form factor mouse with a honeycomb design and ambidextrous shape.

It uses the PixArt PMW3389 sensor, which is top of the range.

The most remarkable feature about the MM710 is that it weighs just 53 grams. That makes it the lightest gaming mouse you can get right now, with the exception of the Ultralight 2.

But, unlike the Ultralight 2, the MM710 is inexpensive. So you get Finalmouse quality and weight for a fraction of the price.

You can read my full review of the Cooler Master MM710 here.

Here are the measurements of the Cooler Master MM710:

  • Length: 116.6 mm
  • Width: 62.6 mm
  • Height: 38.3 mm

Because of the ambidextrous shape and small mouse, the MM710 is best used with a claw or fingertip grip. But you could palm grip it if your hands are small enough.

If you’re looking for an ultralight and small mouse to play Fortnite with, the MM710 could be your perfect choice.

9. Zowie S Series

Zowie S2 Divina Mouse in Pink

Zowie is known as a company that makes mice with excellent shape. With the Zowie S Series mouse, they took what was great about the FK Series and made it better.

The ambidextrous shape and comfort curves in the S Series mouse means that it fits perfectly in your hands regardless of the grip you use.

Zowie listened to the feedback from the community to create a mouse that is taller but not as long. With an upgraded sensor, bigger buttons, and a lighter overall mouse.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Zowie S Series: 72hrs, Vinny1x, Zayt, Jay.

There are two versions of the Zowie S Series. The S1 and the S2.

The S2 is smaller and lighter and is the most popular version of the S Series with Fortnite pro players.

Here are the measurements of the Zowie S1:

  • Length: 126 mm
  • Width: 62 mm
  • Height: 39 mm
  • Weight: 87 grams

Here are the measurements of the Zowie S2:

  • Length: 122 mm
  • Width: 60 mm
  • Height: 38 mm
  • Weight: 82 grams

The thing that lets the S Series down the most is the cable. It’s a thick, flexible, and smooth rubber cable that’s no problem in a mouse bungee, but not as good as the flexible paracord cables you can get on mice today.

There’s no software with this mouse, either. You just plug it in and play. But you have buttons at the bottom to change the DPI and polling rate.

You have a few options in regards to the style of the S Series. You can get the Divina versions that come in glossy pink and glossy blue. Or you can get the classic matte black.

>> Click here to view the Zowie S Series on Amazon.

10. Logitech G403 Hero

Logitech G403 Wired Optical Gaming Mouse

The Logitech G403 is a classic mouse with an excellent shape that gamers love. Logitech recently refreshed the G403 to upgrade it with their famous Hero 16K sensor.

It’s a safe, ergonomic shape with rubber grips on both the left and right sides to give you more control when you play Fortnite.

If you’re into RGB, then you can customize the lighting and animation effects from over 16 million colors using the gaming software. So you can get the colors to be personal to you and match your set up.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Logitech G403: Stretch, Saf, Reverse2k, Marksman, Kyzui, Aspect, ClarityG.

Here are the measurements of the Logitech G403:

  • Length: 124 mm
  • Width: 68 mm
  • Height: 43 mm

So it’s not a very long mouse, but it’s tall and fairly wide. It’s best for gamers that have average length hands and above average width.

It weighs 87 grams, which is acceptable for a mouse of its size. And it’s available for a very affordable price.

11. Logitech G305

Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse

If you’re looking for a small, lightweight, and wireless mouse then the Logitech G305 could be the mouse for you.

This is one of my personal favorite mice and one that I keep coming back to. You can read my full review of the Logitech G305 here.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Logitech G305: NoWonder, RustyMachine, Toose, RizaaR, KP5ive, Tinny.

Here are the measurements of the Logitech G305:

  • Length: 116.6 mm
  • Width: 62.15 mm
  • Height: 38.2 mm

So it’s a short mouse that’s fairly flat and wide. Known in the mouse community as the “egg shape” the G305 uses an ambidextrous design that’s best suited for claw and fingertip grip.

The weight of the G305 is 99 grams, which is quite light for a wireless mouse.

But you can get the weight down to about 89 grams when you use a lithium battery, and down to about 85 grams if you use a lithium battery with an AAA converter.

I highly recommend you use a lithium battery with the G305 because it helps not only to reduce the weight but to create a better weight distribution to improve the feel of the mouse.

The extreme efficiency of the Logitech HERO sensor means you can game for up to 250 hours on just one battery, and potentially even longer when you use a lithium battery.

As you know, the Logitech Lightspeed wireless technology is amazing, so there’s no need to say anything more about it.

The Logitech G305 is available for less than half the price of the Logitech G Pro Wireless, making it a very attractive choice in 2020.

>> Click here to view the Logitech G305 on Amazon.

12. Microsoft Pro Intellimouse

Microsoft Pro Intellimouse

A Microsoft mouse on a list of gaming mice for Fortnite?

Yes. Hear me out.

The Microsoft Pro Intellimouse uses the PixArt 3389 sensor, which is top of the range to give you the best precision when gaming for the smallest flicks or the largest gestures.

It uses a mouse report rate of 1000 reports a second and has an adjustable DPI range of up to 16,000.

Here are the measurements of the Microsoft Pro Intellimouse:

  • Length: 132 mm
  • Width: 69 mm
  • Height: 43 mm

The Microsoft Pro Intellimouse is the longest mouse on this list and it’s wide and tall, too. So it’s best suited for those with large hands that are looking for the largest mouse available for playing Fortnite.

It weighs 100 grams, which is impressive for a mouse of its size and within the reasonable range for playing shooter games like Fortnite. And it’s very well priced.

>> Click here to view the Microsoft Pro Intellimouse on Amazon.

13. Zowie EC Series

BenQ Zowie EC2-B Ergonomic Gaming Mouse

Finishing off this list at number 13 (unlucky for some) is the Zowie EC Series mouse.

You know that Zowie is known for making mice with excellent shape. And the EC series is very popular among Counter-Strike players, which are known for their tremendous aim.

The EC series was actually designed for competitive Counter-Strike and Zowie teamed up with pro player Emil Christensen (who has the initials EC, hence the name) to create the mouse.

Of course, the EC series are popular with Fortnite players as well because it’s designed to be used for long hours and to give you the best precision and control when aiming.

Notable Fortnite players that use the Zowie EC Series: Vorwenn, Heart, Highsky, Winter, Criz, DarkzyNL.

Like the Zowie S Series, there are two versions of the EC Series. The EC1 and EC2.

And like the S Series, the EC2 is the smaller and lighter version and is the more popular choice with Fortnite pro players.

Here are the measurements of the Zowie EC1:

  • Length: 128 mm
  • Width: 69 mm
  • Height: 43 mm
  • Weight: 97 grams

Here are the measurements of the Zowie EC2:

  • Length: 120 mm
  • Width: 64 mm
  • Height: 40 mm
  • Weight: 90 grams

The Zowie EC Series come equipped with a 3360 sensor, so you’ll have no problems when tracking with this mouse.

They are an ergonomic shape with excellent balance. For the cable, it’s the classic rubber cable that Zowie mice generally use.

How to choose the best mouse for you

A mouse is a personal piece of hardware.

And no one mouse is going to be perfect for everybody because there is no such thing as the perfect mouse.

You see, we are all different. So every mouse has to be different, too.

Different sizes, different shapes, different weights. Every mouse has its own unique set of features, advantages, and disadvantages.

Here are the 4 key factors that you need to consider when choosing a mouse:

  1. Size and Shape — The most important thing is that you get a mouse that fits your hand size and grip style. As a rough guide, you want the length of your mouse to be about 66% of the length of your hand
  2. Sensor — You want the best sensor so that your mouse movements are reliable and responsive. Every mouse so far that you have seen on this last has a top sensor
  3. Weight — Ideally, your mouse should weigh under 100 grams for a fast-paced shooter game like Fortnite and the lighter the better. Because a mouse that’s too heavy can make your arm tired when playing for long hours and could negatively affect your aim
  4. Buttons — You have many keybinds in Fortnite, so you want a mouse that has side buttons to help distribute some of the keybinds. Every mouse on this list has at least 2 side buttons, but you may want a mouse with more

Throughout this post, you have learned about the best gaming mice for Fortnite. But it’s important to not pay too much attention to the actual number in the list.

Because the best mouse for you could be further down the list depending on what you’re looking for. For example, if you have small hands then you’re probably not going to like the Logitech G Pro wireless because it is designed for someone with medium-sized hands.

But every mouse in this list is very good and as long as you choose one that is the the right size (by using the 66% rule above) then you can be confident in your decision.

What is the best gaming mouse for Fortnite?

I think that the Logitech G Pro Wireless is the best mouse for Fortnite as of right now. You know it’s a very good mouse because it’s used by so many of the top Fortnite players.

And it’s designed with direct input from professional eSports players, so it’s made with top tier performance in mind.

Also, it’s wireless and that’s a feature that I really like. Cable drag can be a problem that negatively impacts your aim and you just don’t have that concern with a wireless mouse.

Its main rival is the Razer Viper Ultimate with the major difference being the shape. The Razer Viper Ultimate is slightly wider, not as high, and a little lighter.

Of course, if the size of either of these mice aren’t right for you or if they’re out of your budget, don’t worry. Because you have plenty of other good options to consider.

The Glorious Model O is a much more budget-friendly option that’s a similar size and shape.

If you’re looking for a smaller mouse, the Logitech G305 is an excellent budget choice that’s small, lightweight, and wireless. And the Cooler Master MM710 is a small, ultra-light, and wired option.

If you’re looking for something bigger, you could go with the Razer Deathadder V2 or the Zowie EC1.

The post Do Fortnite Players Need a Mouse Bungee? appeared first on Kr4m.

]]>
A mouse bungee is used to secure the cable of your mouse.

It helps to prevent the cable from tangling, getting caught on your desk, and to eliminate any drag.

When you use a mouse bungee, you can move your mouse with complete freedom because you have no friction from your cable.

So your mouse movements will become more consistent, and this can help to improve your aim.

The mouse bungee I use and recommend is the Zowie Camade (click here to check the price on Amazon). This is a popular choice among pro gamers and you will see it often at LAN tournaments.

The Zowie Camade has a heavy base and rubber feet so it won’t move when you’re gaming. Its arm extends so you can adjust the height as required, and it has a flexible rubber end which will fit the majority of mouse cables.

Another fine option is the Razer Gaming Mouse Bungee v2 (click here to check the price on Amazon). This is an improvement to the original as it has a heavier base and uses anti-slip feet.

You can also get a mouse bungee with a USB hub, which can be helpful if you have a lot of USB gadgets that need power.

Because the bungee holds your cable roughly 10cm in the air, it also helps to reduce the overall weight of your mouse.

As you know, weight is an important factor for shooter games like Fortnite, and a lighter mouse is better because they’re easier to move and aim with.

And a mouse bungee is particularly helpful if you use a mouse with a thick and heavy cable as it will reduce even more of the weight.

How to use a mouse bungee

Setting up a mouse bungee is simple.

You just need to place it on your desk, in front of your mouse.

Then insert your mouse cable into the bungee.

You want to leave enough cable so you can comfortably swipe your mouse across the entire area of your mouse pad.

Once your cable is secure, you can then adjust your cable position if you need a little more or a little less.

Who are mouse bungees for?

Believe it or not, the inventor of the mouse bungee wasn’t actually a gamer.

In 1994 Ed Larkin tried to introduce the solution to the business world by creating a mouse pad with a bungee attached.

But it was a flop.

So the project was sold to Razer in 2010 who then ran away with the idea and started marketing it to gamers. Since then, many other companies are offering their own products.

Today the mouse bungee still remains a niche product with its target market being hardcore gamers that are looking for a solution to the problem of cable drag and to improve their aim when gaming.

Of course, you don’t need to be a hardcore play to get a mouse bungee.

And even casual players and office workers can benefit from one.

In particular, Fortnite players could benefit a lot from a mouse bungee. And the reason for this is because you move your mouse around a lot when playing Fortnite to build and look for players.

Also, anyone that uses a low sensitivity in Fortnite or when playing shooters will see the most benefit from a mouse bungee. Because when you use a low sensitivity you have to move your mouse a greater distance.

So your mouse bungee will have a greater effect in reducing the overall cable drag.

Obviously, you don’t need a mouse bungee if you use a wireless mouse. And wireless gaming mice are becoming an increasingly popular option as we are seeing improvements in wireless technology.

How about the cheap options?

Of course, you can get a cheap generic mouse bungee.

These will be of lower quality in comparison to the premium models. For example, the base will not be as heavy so it may move when gaming and the bungee arm may not be as flexible.

But a simple generic mouse bungee may be sufficient for most cases.

You could get the benefits of the mouse bungee for free with your own solution.

You see, many gamers will simply use a piece of tape to anchor their mouse cable, leaving only the necessary amount free for movement.

Some players will even tape the mouse cable to their monitor, so it hangs in the air. And this has the added benefit of the reduced weight of the cable like a mouse bungee would do.

Obviously, those options aren’t as elegant as a mouse bungee.

But they can work well for someone in a financial pinch.

Conclusion

To answer the original question: Do you need a mouse bungee?

No. You don’t.

You can play any game you like, including Fortnite, without a bungee. And you can do just fine without one, too.

But should you get a mouse bungee?

If you’re someone that has a problem with mouse cable drag and it is negatively impacting your aim, then a bungee will solve this problem for you.

You see, in competitive games the small things matter. So if your mouse accuracy is even a tiny bit out because of some friction then your cursor may not be aligned correctly and you could lose the game.

The post Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Mouse Review appeared first on Kr4m.

]]>
Do you want a high-quality wireless gaming mouse?

One that’s affordable?

And made by one of the most reputable companies in the gaming industry?

Well, look no further than the Logitech G305 (link to check the latest price on Amazon). This is an excellent wireless mouse, even for competitive gamers that would typically avoid wireless technology.

That’s because the G305 uses “Lightspeed”, a wireless solution with a 1ms response rate.

In other words, you won’t be able to tell the difference from a wired mouse.

As of right now, this is the cheapest wireless mouse available with Lightspeed technology.

A wireless version of the Logitech G Pro

The wired Logitech G Pro is one of the most popular gaming mice for competitive players.

Now, thanks to the G305, you can get the same great mouse but without the wire.

By the way, the wired G Pro is a different mouse entirely from the very popular (and very expensive) G Pro Wireless. This is confusing naming convention from Logitech, unfortunately.

But basically the G305 is a smaller (and much cheaper) version of the G Pro Wireless.

And it’s the small size and affordability that made me want to get this mouse.

Here are the dimensions of the Logitech G305:

  • Height: 116.6 mm
  • Width: 62.15 mm
  • Depth: 38.2 mm
  • Weight: 99 grams

You see, the ideal length of a mouse should be about two thirds the length of your hand. The length of my hand is 17cm, so the Logitech G305 is a very good fit for me. And hopefully for you too.

I mostly play Fortnite, so this review will have some focus around that. But I also play some Kovaak’s FPS Aim Trainer. So I can talk about how the G305 feels for shooters and aiming more generally as well.

But first, I want to talk about the biggest problem the G305 has.

And a simple solution to that problem.

How to make the G305 even lighter

As you know, the G305 weighs 99 grams when using a standard AA battery.

Now, 99 grams is very light for a wireless mouse.

But when you think about how you can buy gaming mice as light as 58 grams today, the G305 can feel a bit heavy.

The real problem, however, is not the actual weight. Instead, it’s how the weight is distributed.

Listen, the G305 is a very “back heavy” mouse when you use a standard AA battery. In other words, the weight isn’t evenly distributed because of the weight of the battery.

Here’s the solution: Lithium batteries.

You see, lithium batteries weigh about 10 grams less than your standard battery and you can get a pack of lithium batteries for about $15 on Amazon. Doing this will reduce the weight of your G305 to about 89 grams.

A 10-gram reduction in weight may not seem like much. But it’s the improvement of the weight distribution that really matters.

In other words, when you use lithium batteries with your G305 it will feel a lot better because the weight is more evenly distributed.

Also, lithium batteries are more energy-efficient, which is an added bonus.

You’ll soon learn as you continue to read this review, that the energy efficiency of the G305 is already amazing.

But, before we get to the features of the mouse, let’s continue talking about the weight some more. Shall we?

Get your G305 lighter than a G Pro Wireless

With lithium batteries, the G305 weighs just 9 grams more than the G Pro Wireless.

But when you consider you can get the Logitech G305 for less than half the cost of the G Pro Wireless then this mouse starts to make a lot of sense when you think economically.

And I’m about to tell you how you can get the weight down even further.

Listen, you can use an AAA to AA adapter, and this will allow you to use a smaller lithium battery to power your G305.

Smaller battery = less weight.

Using an AAA lithium battery with an adapter will get your G305 weight down to about 84 grams. Which is within 5% of the weight of the G Pro Wireless.

If you want to be really economical, you can skip the adapter altogether and just use some tin toil with your AAA battery.

Here’s another simple thing you can do to reduce the weight even more: Remove the back of the mouse. Doing this will reduce the weight a further 7 grams, making it lighter than the G Pro Wireless.

Of course, playing without the back of your G305 might feel awkward, and it’s not something I recommend. But it is an option if you want to reduce the weight and you can still use the mouse just as well.

Some Reddit users have even taken it a step further by modding the shell of the G305 to get the weight down to 53 grams. Therefore imitating the honeycomb style from Final Mouse.

Certainly, you’re unlikely to go to such extremes.

But I think the length that gamers are willing to go to modify their own G305s speaks volumes about the quality of this mouse.

A simple design

Let’s get away from weight a moment and instead talk about how the mouse looks.

You see, it’s a simple mouse with no unnecessary features. This is exactly how a gaming mouse should be, in my opinion.

No gimmicky lights and no unnecessary buttons to get in your way when you’re holding the G305.

As for the color, it’s matte black. And this is the perfect color for my PC set up, and likely it will suit your set up, too.

Of course, if black isn’t your style, then it’s worth knowing that you can get the Logitech G305 in white if that would suit your set up better.

Side view of the white version of the Logitech G305 mouse

And the shape of the mouse? It’s almost perfect. And the ambidextrous design means it’s compatible with any grip style.

The mouse wheel is well designed as well. And this is useful for when you want to use the scroll wheel to reset your edit trick in Fortnite.

The side buttons have mechanical tension which means they feel great when you press them. And I have some more to say about the buttons later in this review.

For now, though, I want to talk about the more technical features of this mouse. Because this is an area where Logitech is a step ahead of the competition.

The Hero sensor

The G305 uses Logitech’s very own Hero sensor.

This is a top-quality sensor that allows for accurate and consistent performance with zero mouse acceleration.

You can use up to 12,000 DPI. Of course, you’re unlikely to ever set it this high and you can learn more about the best mouse DPI for Fortnite here.

The great thing about the Hero sensor is that it delivers amazing efficiency. You see, you can use the G305 for up to 250 hours on a single battery, which is over a month of 8 hours a day use.

And there’s an indicator light that will let you know when 15% battery power remains. So you don’t have to worry about the power suddenly running out when you are in an important game.

You also have the option to change the settings to “endurance mode” using the Logitech gaming software so the battery can last up to 9 months. When you use endurance mode, however, it lowers your mouse polling rate to 125 Hz to use less power.

Now that we’ve talked about the weight and shape and the technical features of the G305, it’s time to consider how this mouse performs when gaming.

What is the Logitech G305 like for Fortnite?

As you know, Fortnite is a fast-paced shooter game.

And because there’s a bunch of building involved in Fortnite, you’re going to be moving the mouse around your mouse pad a lot.

You’ll also be moving your arm up and down a lot because of the verticality in Fortnite (as a result of building).

You see, the amount of mouse movements you do when playing Fortnite means it’s a game that’s very well suited for a wireless mouse. Because you won’t need to worry about your wire getting stuck on something or cable drag negatively affecting your aim.

Obviously the Logitech G305 is excellent for shooters in general because it’s a lightweight mouse with an ambidextrous design. And its small size means it fits my hand almost perfectly when using the claw grip (though any grip will be fine).

I find my aim improves when using a smaller mouse, and this is something you’re likely to experience as well.

But the one problem I have with the G305 when playing Fortnite is the size of the buttons. They’re quite small and I found them a little difficult to press as they weren’t where my thumb naturally rests (this may be because I’m used to a different mouse).

You see, the keybinds I use for building a wall and stairs in Fortnite are bound to my side buttons. In other words, I use my side buttons a lot. So it’s important that my side buttons are easy to press and don’t negatively impact my grip.

So that’s why I’ve chosen not to make the Logitech G305 my main mouse.

Instead, I’ll be sticking with my Zowie S2 Divina, which is another excellent small gaming mouse with a top sensor and better side buttons (for me, anyway). Of course, this is a wired mouse but I use a mouse bungee to solve the cable management problem.

There’s certainly an argument to be made that I didn’t spend enough time using the G305 to train myself to use the side buttons effectively.

But I will be keeping this mouse and returning to it in the future. That’s for sure.

Conclusion

The Logitech G305 is an extremely good wireless mouse that goes head to head with the much more expensive G Pro Wireless.

Because the G305 is available at such an attractive price, it’s a must-have for any serious gamer looking for a small and wireless mouse.

Of course, it’s not perfect (no mouse is).

And there are some things I’d like to see Logitech improve on in any future versions of the G305. For example, I would like to see them ditch the battery, create bigger side mouse buttons and make it Powerplay compatible.

In other words, an upgraded mouse that uses the same technology as the G Pro Wireless.

As of writing, however, the G305 is the second-best wireless mouse you can get your hands on.

But it’s best for gamers with small hands and the best in terms of value.

So, are you going to get a Logitech G305?

With the RTX 2080 Super, you get most of the performance in Fortnite that you’d get with the RTX 2080 Ti, with some considerable savings.

You see, the RTX 2080 Super will get you about 10% less FPS in Fortnite than the RTX 2080 Ti for around $400 cheaper.

So if you’re looking for exceptional performance, without having to spend over $1,000 for an RTX 2080 Ti, then the RTX 2080 Super is a great choice.

Here’s what you get with the RTX 2080 Super:

  • Boost clock of 1815 MHz
  • 3072 CUDA cores
  • 8 GB GDDR6 memory

So the boost clock is actually higher for the 2080 Super when compared to the 2080 Ti, but it has roughly 30% fewer CUDA cores.

This graphics card is more than capable of pumping out an average of over 240 FPS in Fortnite, so it’s a perfect pairing if you have a high refresh monitor.

The best way to think about the RTX 2080 Super is like a refreshed version of the previous generations 1080 Ti (another superb graphics card) because the performance in Fortnite is very similar.

Because of the pricing of the RTX 2080 Super, it doesn’t make any sense to go with a standard RTX 2080, so we’re going to step down in our next graphics card.

You can think about the RTX 2080 Super as a refreshed version of the 1080 Ti because they perform similarily in Fortnite.

3. Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super graphics card

Stepping down from the 2080 series, we have the RTX 2070 Super, which was made to compete with the latest offerings from AMD.

This is an excellent card that offers comparable performance to any of the 2080 cards, but because we’re stepping down a series you get the performance at a much more reasonable price point.

Here’s what you get with the RTX 2070 Super:

  • Boost clock of 1845 MHz
  • 2560 CUDA cores
  • 8 GB GDDR6 memory

So you still get excellent clock speeds with the 2070 Super, with about 16% fewer CUDA cores.

The 2070 Super is the cheapest graphics card you can get that’s capable of outputting an average FPS of over 240, making it an excellent choice if you have a high refresh monitor.

And much like the case with the 2080 Super, the pricing and performance of the RTX 2070 Super means that the standard RTX 2070 doesn’t have a logical place right now, so we’ll be skipping it and stepping down again.

4. Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super graphics card

The RTX 2060 Super is an excellent graphics card at a competitive price point.

It’s an upgraded version of the RTX 2060, featuring more CUDA cores, a higher boost clock, and an extra 2GB of VRAM.

Here’s what you get with the RTX 2060 Super:

  • Boost clock of 1800 MHz
  • 2176 CUDA cores
  • 8 GB GDDR6 memory

At this price point, it’s main competitor is the AMD RX 5700XT. The RTX 2060 Super has better thermals and performs slightly worse in general for most titles.

But because Fortnite prefers Nvidia cards the RTX 2060 Super outperforms the AMD RX 5700XT. The AMD RX 5700XT is a great graphics card, but if you want a card at this price point and are interested in getting the best performance in Fortnite, then you should get an Nvidia card.

5. Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card

The RTX 2060 offers excellent performance for the price.

And unlike the standard RTX 2080 and RTX 2080, the RTX 2060 does make sense to get even with the Super variant on the market.

Here’s what you get with the RTX 2060:

  • Boost clock of 1710 MHz
  • 1920 CUDA cores
  • 6 GB GDDR6 memory

The biggest difference between the RTX 2060 and RTX 2060 Super is the amount of VRAM.

You see, the RTX 2060 has 2GB less VRAM. But Fortnite isn’t the most VRAM intensive game, so even with the most graphically intensive settings, you’re going to be absolutely fine with the 6GB of VRAm with the RTX 2060.

The main graphics card that competes with the RTX 2060 at this price point is the AMD RX 5600XT. And as we’ve already discussed, Nvidia cards are better than AMD cards in Fortnite.

6. Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card

The GTX 1660 Ti is a step down from the other graphics cards mentioned so far in a sense that it doesn’t have Ray Tracing.

But because Ray Tracing hasn’t really found its way into games in general at the moment it really doesn’t serve any purpose, especially in Fortnite that doesn’t rely on particularly real-life graphics.

Here’s what you get with the GTX 1660 Ti:

  • Boost clock of 1800 MHz
  • 1536 CUDA cores
  • 6 GB GDDR6 memory

So the GTX 1660 Ti is a very good graphics card, offering excellent performance for the price.

7. Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 super graphics card

The GTX 1660 Super offers good performance for the price.

Much like the 1660 Ti, you don’t get Ray Tracing with this card and that’s not a big deal-breaker at the moment especially for Fortnite players.

Here’s what you get with the GTX 1660 Ti:

  • Boost clock of 1830 MHz
  • 1408 CUDA cores
  • 6 GB GDDR6 memory

There really isn’t a huge difference between the 1660 Ti and Super, so choose the one that fits your budget the best.

>> Click here to view the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super on Amazon.

8. Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 super graphics card

The GTX 1650 Super brings is into budget territory.

The GTX 1650 Super is well-priced and is very efficient. So because it uses less power and generates less heat, you will save some money when you use this card.

Here’s what you get with the GTX 1650 Super:

  • Boost clock of 1530 MHz
  • 1280 CUDA cores
  • 4 GB GDDR6 memory

So you lose some performance in comparison to the other cards, and you also lose another 2GB of VRAM.

But, as you know, Fortnite isn’t the most intensive game for your VRAM. So as long as you’re playing on 1080p resolution (which you should be with this card) then you’ll be absolutely fine with the GTX 1650 Super.

9. AMD Radeon RX 570

AMD Radeon RX 570 graphics card

The Radeon RX 570 is the final card on this list and the first graphics card from AMD.

Look, while AMD may have some great graphics card in the mid-high range, none of them make sense for Fortnite because of the engine preferring Nvidia graphics card.

But AMD does have better offerings in the lower tier of cards, especially the RX 570 and RX 580.

Here’s what you get with the RX 570:

  • Boost clock of 1293 MHz
  • 2048 CUDA cores
  • 4 GB GDDR6 memory

So you get more CUDA cores with the RX 570, but because the boost clock isn’t as fast as the other cards, you lose some performance.

The RX 570 is the ultimate budget card and offers the best cost per frame of any card on this list.

For those looking for the best value for money, go with the RX 570.

Graphics card Fortnite performance and price comparison

Now that we’ve covered all the best graphics cards you can get for Fortnite, let’s take a look at the frames per second (FPS) you can expect to get from each card.

We’ll be looking at how each card performs at both high and low settings at 1080p resolution.

Bear in mind that your FPS largely depends on what’s happening during a game. For example, in a hectic end game scenario with a bunch of players building, you’re going to get less FPS than if you were in a blank Creative map and looking at the sky.

Also, the number of FPS you experience may differ depending on the quality of your system as a whole.

So take these numbers as a rough guideline only to help inform your decision.

Fortnite average FPS comparison for difference graphics cards on high settings in 1080p resolution

Now let’s take a look at low settings. These would be using the settings that competitive players would use in Fortnite to get the most performance possible.

Fortnite average FPS comparison for difference graphics cards on high settings in 1080p resolution

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that the best and most expensive cards have the highest FPS.

It’s useful to consider the price of each graphics card in tandem with the FPS so we can work out the respective cost per frame for each card.

Fortnite cost per frame comparison for different graphics cards

As you can see, the more expensive cards are less efficient in terms of their cost. In other words, the higher tier graphics cards cost more per frame.

So it goes. That’s the price you pay for top performance.

But it’s important to bear in mind that the prices of cards (and therefore the cost per frame) can vary depending on a number of factors.

For example, there may be a big sale on a particular card and at that time it could have the best cost per frame and make the most sense for you to buy.

You want your graphics card to be able to output a high number of FPS. Because a high FPS can help Fortnite feel smoother and improve your aim and building.

How to choose the best graphics card for you

As you know, your graphics card is the most expensive part of your PC and it’s the part that’s responsible for giving you the best performance and highest frames per second when you play Fortnite.

You want your graphics card to be able to output a high number of FPS because more FPS can actually make you better at Fortnite.

But how do you decide?

Obviously, not everybody has thousands of dollars to spend on a graphics card. An RTX 2080 Ti, for example, can cost more than someone’s entire PC build.

Look, your goal when buying any PC parts should be to get the best possible performance for your money. So because your graphics card is going to be the most expensive component in your PC, it’s going to eat up most of your budget.

You should look to spend roughly 30-40% of your overall budget for a PC on your graphics card. For example, if your budget for a PC is $1,000 then you should look to spend $300-400 on a graphics card.

But I recommend you stretch your budget to get something better. Let me explain why.

As you know, a gaming PC is a big investment and you want to get the best parts you can possibly get. But you don’t want to be disappointed or feel the need to upgrade in a few months.

So when you stretch your budget and get something a little more expensive you will get a graphics card that you can be happy with over many years.

And this can actually work out cheaper over the long-term in comparison to upgrading your graphics card every generation.

What is the best graphics card for Fortnite?

If you want to get the highest possible frames per second when you play Fortnite, then the best graphics card you can get right now is the RTX 2080 Ti.

On average, the RTX 2080 Ti will get you over 300 FPS in Fortnite when you use low settings. And because it has a massive 11 GB of VRAM, this card will future proof you for many years.

But if you want a graphics card that can get you 240 FPS to match your high refresh monitor without having to break the bank, then the RTX 2080 Super or RTX 2070 Super are your best choices.

For the best 144+ FPS card, then I would recommend the RTX 2060 since it offers excellent performance at a very reasonable cost per frame.

When you get down to the best budget choices, any of the Nvidia GTX cards are a good choice.

But if you’re looking for the absolute best bang for your buck card, then the RX 570 offers an unbelievable cost per frame, while still getting you over 60 FPS even with high settings in Fortnite.

Your graphics card is one of the most important parts of your gaming PC.

Because it generally has the biggest effect on your performance when gaming.

And it’s usually the most expensive part, too.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (link to Amazon) is the latest in the Turing architecture released by NVIDIA in 2018.

It has 1920 CUDA cores, uses GGDR memory and has a video memory (VRAM) of 6GB. The base clock is 1365 MHz with a boost clock of 1680 MHz.

What is the GTX equivalent of the RTX 2060?

The RTX in RTX 2060 stands for Ray Tracing.

Ray Tracing is a rendering technique to get the most realistic and lifelike graphics possible.

But it’s not well used in Fortnite because of the cartoon-like graphics.

So RTX is turned off because it can reduce your Frames Per Second (FPS) when gaming.

Moreover, you may be more familiar with the GTX family of NVIDIA graphics cards, since that is the standard naming convention.

And the GTX performance equivalent to the RTX 2060 is the GTX 1070 Ti. But the GTX 1070 Ti is more than 2 years old and uses the Pascal architecture.

Because it’s so old it’s (almost) impossible to buy new. However, you could get yourself a good deal if you choose to buy used.

Note that many of these cards may have been heavily overclocked or used for mining and this can reduce the life span.

In general, I recommend you buy new from a reputable store with a good return policy. So you can return your graphics card if anything were to go wrong.

In other words, you don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on something that doesn’t work and have no money-back guarantee.

If you’re looking for the GTX equivalent from the newest Turing architecture then you’re looking at getting either the GTX 1660 or GTX 1660 Ti.

Both the GTX 1660 and GTX 1660 Ti are slower than the RTX 2060. But they are also cheaper and the performance decrease is roughly linear.

What is the AMD equivalent of the RTX 2060?

RTX 2060

In terms of price, the AMD Radeon RX 5700 is about the same as to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.

However, in Fortnite, the RTX 2060 outperforms the RX 5700 because Fortnite prefers NVIDIA GPUs.

The performance equivalent in Fortnite is the RX 5700 XT. But this card is a bit more expensive and is a similar price to the RTX 2060 Super.

The RTX 2060 Super does, of course, perform better than the RX 5700 XT in Fortnite. So, if you’re looking to spend a little more and you’re only looking to play Fortnite, then the RTX 2060 Super may make sense for your use case.

But note that both the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT have more VRAM than both versions of the RTX 2060 (8GB vs 6GB).

This may not matter much because VRAM in Fortnite typically doesn’t go higher than 3GB even when playing with Epic settings.

Moreover, the AMD cards have worse thermals and are noisier. And they are less power efficient.

So you could end up saving more money over time by going for an NVIDIA card as a result.

What FPS can you expect with the RTX 2060

Your FPS is largely dependant on the CPU you’re using to play Fortnite.

As well as other components such as your RAM and so on.

Of course, I don’t know what the specs of your PC are.

But with my budget AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU and 3000 MHz RAM I am able to get a constant 144+ FPS when playing Fortnite with the RTX 2060. Note that’s when using low settings to get the highest FPS possible when playing Fortnite.

This is great if you’re a competitive player because higher FPS can help improve your aim. And make the game feel smoother and better to play in general.

However, you will need to use a monitor with a high enough refresh rate (Hz) in order to see the extra FPS.

Conclusion

There are a lot of great graphics cards available right now.

Because there’s so much competition.

And competition is great for consumers as it means cheaper prices.

But with so much choice comes a lot of confusion about what to buy.

Here’s what you need to know: Fortnite is not the most graphically intense game and it prefers NVIDIA GPUs. And the RTX 2060 is a good choice at its price point.

The Ryzen 5 2600 (link to Amazon) is a CPU released by AMD in April 2018.

It has 6 cores and 12 threads. A clock speed of 3.4 GHz and a boost clock of 3.9 GHz.

But with the recent release of AMD’s killer 3000 series, how does the 2600 hold up in 2019?

Fortnite likes CPUs with many cores

For many years, CPUs with more than 4 cores were wasted in gaming.

Games weren’t well optimized for CPUs with many cores because there wasn’t enough demand.

However, higher core count CPUs are much more common today as a result of becoming much more affordable (thanks to AMD).

And Fortnite is a game that is more CPU reliant than a lot of other games. That’s because of the building which can become quite abundant, especially in the late game.

So it’s not uncommon for processors with a low core count to have a high CPU usage in Fortnite, which bottlenecks the performance.

Moreover, in recent updates, Fortnite has seen improvements to its multithreaded rendering.

And they have even added an option for it in the in-game settings. That is if your CPU has enough cores and threads.

Allow multithreaded rendering turned on in Fortnite video settings

This means that CPUs with a lot of cores, like the Ryzen 5 2600, get used better.

With the load being spread more evenly across the cores for the best in-game performance.

AMD vs Intel

The closest Intel equivalent to the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 is the Intel Core i7-8700k because it also has 6 cores and 12 threads.

Now, the i7-8700k is about 25% faster in gaming and in Fortnite. Because it has better clock speeds and better single-core performance.

The single-core performance for Intel CPUs has always been very good. And single-core performance is more important in gaming.

CPU UserBenchmark comparison Intel Core i7-8700k vs AMD Ryzen 5 2600

Image via userbenchmark.

However, the i7-8700k is almost 3 times the price of the Ryzen 5 2600.

And that’s not even factoring in the extra price of a cooler. Since this Intel CPU doesn’t include a stock cooler.

Or the extra price of a motherboard. Because the LGA1151 socket motherboards for Intel CPUs are usually more expensive than the AM4 ones for Ryzen CPUs.

So the i7-8700k actually costs more than 3 times the price of the Ryzen 5 2600. And 3 times the price for 25% doesn’t seem logical, at least not to me.

You see, for me building a PC is a lot about getting the best bang for your buck. That means getting parts that provide great value.

Conclusion

The AMD Ryzen 5 2600 is one of the best value for money PC components right now.

And it’s only just being beat on value by the older and slower AMD Ryzen 5 1600.

Which is now a lot harder to get because they are no longer in production.

PassMark best available price performance CPUs

As you know, the Ryzen 5 2600 has 6 cores and 12 threads, so the price per core is ridiculously cheap.

The trend in gaming right now suggests that more cores are becoming more important. So it would be wise to get a CPU with at least 6 cores to future proof your PC.

The Ryzen 5 2600 comes with the Wraith Stealth Cooler. Which is more than capable when you are at stock speeds while staying fairly quiet.

But if you are looking for a heavy overclock then you are going to want to get an aftermarket cooler that’s a bit better, such as the Arctic Freezer 33.

Moreover, AMD CPUs benefits the most from dual-channel high-speed RAM. So get that if it fits your budget.

I use my Ryzen 5 2600 with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 and DDR4 3000 MHz RAM.

This setup gets me consistent 144+ Frames Per Second (FPS) in Fortnite even in more intense situations. And that’s at stock speeds and no overclocks, too.

So, I’m very happy with the performance.
