How to Show Your Ping in Fortnite Chapter 2

In Guides by Kr4m2 Comments

Ping is the latency between your client and the Fortnite server.

You can show your ping in-game by enabling a simple setting.

Knowing your ping is useful so I recommend that you turn it on.

But Fortnite sometimes changes the location of this setting, making it difficult to find.

Here’s what you need to do to show your Ping in Fortnite as of Chapter 2:

  1. Open the Fortnite menu by pressing the escape key on your keyboard or start button on your controller
  2. From the dropdown list select Settings
  3. Click the Game UI icon, the third one across that looks like a box with a triangle and some lines
  4. From the list of options turn Net Debug Stats On

Now your ping will be shown in the top left of your screen when you play Fortnite, next to where your player name is.

You will also see other useful network stats such as your download speed, upload speed, and packet loss. So you can track how your connection is doing while you play.

If you find that the size of the text is too large and distracting, or too small and you can’t read it properly, then you can change the size by adjusting the HUD Scale at the top of your Game UI settings until you get it just right.

In the above screenshot, you can see that my ping is 0. This means that I have no network delay so building and editing feels super smooth and responsive.

Getting your ping as low as possible is something you must do because it gives you a competitive advantage and will improve your overall experience when you play Fortnite.
